Unique Equipment System
Saffron has developed and manufactured a unique equipment system on a global scale, which is the solid basis for the development and growth of the chain. The saffron brand has three main targets: excellent food, exquisite service, and an authentic Mediterranean atmosphere; while maintaining the highest standards in the industry. Some believe its origin is from the 12th-century old French term ”safran”, which comes from the Latin word “safranum” or from Arabic, “az-za'faranm,” having unknown origin.
Saffron is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus, commonly known as the "saffron crocus". Saffron crocus grows to 20–30 cm and bears up to four flowers, each with three vivid crimson stigmas, which are collected and dried to be used mainly as a seasoning and coloring agent in food. Saffron, long among the world's most costly spices by weight, is native to Southwest Asia and was probably first cultivated in or near Greece. Iran now accounts for approximately 90% of the world production of saffron.
